South Carolina upper coast

Here is the Myrtle Beach/Surfside Beach area we have had light rain fall all day. I am approx. 6 miles inland and the winds have gusted up to 35-40 mph or so. Steady winds of 20-25 mph.

Garden City Beach at the noon high tide....sea water breeched the dunes and flooded the streets.

On Pawley's Island both causeways were closed as water covered them both. Both North and South causeways are still closed as water was still covering it even with a receding tide. Evacuation shelter opened on the mainland for residents of the island.

Georgetown to the south.....Front street is flooded and all electricity has been cut to the downtown area. Georgetown just reported a wind gust of 62 mph.

The worst is supposedly coming overnight but by day break should be over and done with.
