Marco is now a cat one, and looks to be heading towards w hat would be a landfall somewhere between the Big Easy and Mobile. The trough to the west of Marco, looks to me like it is going to be reinforced by a piece of northern stream energy that looks to be digging south towards the mid south- Tenn.valley region.I suspect this trough will prevent Marco, and eventually Laura, from making land fall any further west than SC Louisiana, if that far west even.

Of course being that Laura is a larger more energetic system, all bets are off once she starts interacting with the smaller circulation that is Marco; then again perhaps Marco will interact with that trough in such a way as to become what would be a larger extra-tropical system ?

Speaking of Laura,if this lady had not hiked across so much land up to this point, I am thinking she would by this time be a really big cat 2, maybe even 3 storm. I have seen storms of equal size and intensity fizzle into open waves while moving across both Hati and or Cuba in a east to west fashion.
What percentage of the models, if any, are depicting- predicting, Laura will not survive as a organized storm until she gets into the open Gulf of Mexico ?
