Re: stay safe Chris

I didn't end up having to secure anything. A bit breezy and over an inch of rain so far. Water level in my canal isn't up very much. For me particularly fresh water flooding isn't an issue. Hopefully now that it is moving faster flooding won't be as much of an issue like it was in parts of southern FL.

Some areas are seeing wind gusts over 40mph, but only a little over 30mph near me so far.

There is a risk of tornadoes and there were some tornado warnings earlier in the region. Some areas are very susceptible to minor coastal flooding in the Tampa Bay area, but not right around me. There is about 2.5 feet of surge in parts of Tampa Bay right now but we are at low tide:

The water level is less than a foot above mean higher high water (MHHW) at the moment. It would take 8 to 9 feet above to flood me so things are good for me particularly. The coast is going to see some of the higher winds and I might see 10 to 15mph more than what they are gusting at right now.

The dry air did good work on the storm. It was looking like it was organizing this morning for a bit and then quickly dry air took over. Hopefully there won't be too much damage.
