Re: the MRMS radar doesn't show warnings, I don't think

They are animated loops:

Elgin AFB:

Tallahassee:

From this directory:
https://radar.weather.gov/ridge/lite/

You just can't control them or zoom in. You can't get any more detail. Since they are used on forecast office pages, I would assume that they will try to have the watches and warnings be on that imagery. It says they are so maybe they are already.

I previously posted about some other not great alternatives in these posts you've seen already:

I like to use the Weather Underground radar, but the site keeps getting worse and worse. Even though there is an option to add "Severe" to the map, the watches and warnings layer no longer works. Zooming in on their radar display also doesn't work well. You have to zoom in while the page is still loading. They seem to have no interest in fixing it as they too are pushing their GIS maps with the WUndermap. (https://www.wunderground.com/wundermap)

But then again, the Wundermap is better than NOAA's GIS mapping currently. (I thought Weather Underground's GIS maps were slow, NOAA's are substantially worse now) They have a way to create a shareable link, but naturally what you generate doesn't work. You have to manually add the radar layer and add the "Severe" later.

Weather.com, which also own WeatherUnderground, also has an interactive map:
https://weather.com/weather/radar/interactive/l/28.5,-81.5?zoom=5&animation=true

Hard to navigate though and can't find way to create a link you can share.

On menu in bottom right corner, See All > Layers and Styles > Add-on layers

And then under that look for "All Watches and Warnings". Under that they have severe layer options you can add.

But since you can't save your view, it's annoying to remember that all the time. I just don't get how in 2020 sites can be so difficult to use if you are a big company or a government site. UI, user interface, is a big part in designing websites. You can have a lot of great things, but if people can't easily navigate your site, it's useless.
