It was amazing to watch some of the surge take the boats. There wasn't waves, but it was amazing to see the power of the water. It just took the boats and docks. The surge doesn't have to seem violent, but it's still extremely powerful.
O/T:
I updated the forum to handle directly embedding social media using the embed code generated at YouTube, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and Imgur. I had previously removed the code I had for doing that, maybe because every time they made changes my code then wouldn't display the embedded content correctly. I wrote my code to be more versatile, so it should work unless they make more significant changes to how they create their embeds. The forum should continue to generate embedded content automatically from links, unless "Display social media content from links" is not selected. I also corrected the code that automatically creates embedded YouTube content from short links generated by YouTube. YouTube now generates unique ids to add to its short urls that you can get by clicking the "Share" button on a video. (which is dumb, they make the code longer which defeats the original purpose; I suppose it's for tracking) My script wasn't previously configured for that. Meaning, both texts in your previous posts would now automatically embed the video as expected in the future.
I also added the ability to embed Instagram video. (what they call "reels")
I was going to add the ability to choose the start time of where a Facebook video can start in the video, like how you can at YouTube here if you generate a link and post it here, but it would require changing the type of embed that is displayed and it wouldn't work as well as the Facebook embeds work now. I could make that specific embed work to choose a start time in a video, but then it would make that embed not look right unless the height of the embed was specifically set. YouTube videos work because it's just a video being displayed, the height can be fixed. With Facebook you have additional content and it would be cutoff potentially by changing things, so I didn't.
If anyone notices any new issues with the embed code, let me know. |
