Funny thing is one time i was in the worst weather i had seen in ages, there were tornado warnings up and i never knew corn fields could bend like that... was in NE Iowa and the weather radio I always carry could not get a signal.
Open road... the radio didn't get a signal, we lost the phone signal as my service was sketchy. Busted the back seat into the trunk where my weather radio was in my carry on bag and.... no signal, nada.
Not a lot of traffic on the open road and an ominous feeling and very low clouds and realized all those years I have been bugging people on the blog to make sure they have a weather radio and...
sometimes there is no back up plan it seems...
We were fine... twister touched down up the road in SE Minn...but seriously...they do have their quirks.
That said... they work fine in small towns and am sure there is some pricey sat radio signal one.
