I was kinda optimistic too until I saw this.

The outflow boundary is usually a sign of a collapsing warm core.As the core cools, there is a sudden down draft.

That totally opposes any inflow convergence. The last ASMU Microwave sounding showed a dis-jointed warm core with the warm center displaced from the boundary-layer inversion. That was all due to the mid-level shear.

I was looking at VIS imagery to see if a hot-tower would fire and heat up the upper troposphere and get the core re-aligned.

It didn't happen. There was a large shear-driven MCS burst with high-rain rate; but that quickly washed out.

I also don't see any type of roll on MIMIC-TPW.

It will take some doing to get the core reheated now.

It could happen in the Carib down the road; shear is dropping and surface pressures are going down as well.

However, the momentum this wave had so far has dissipated, and it will be harder to regain it.

It would have had a better chance if it could have held onto its warm core.
