GOM and West Carib. Big afternoon thunderstorms firing over S FL, W Cuba, & Yucatan. Right now, east Carib has some subsidence going on. Can tell by the surface divergence which indicates sinking air. Shows up as a dotted area on the image below. It was a bit stronger earler today. Also watching an active wave in the ITCZ at 46W. Good convergence there.  |
