Reconnecting to the ITCZ

MIMIC-TPW is showing the rolling blob reconnecting to the ITCZ.
850mb vorticity has gotten a bit deeper but still relatively wide.
Anti-cyclone still overhead - obviuosly shear is zero for all intents and purposes.
Moving into higher SSTs.
I think it is shaking off some dry air intrusion due to the fact it was going thru the Walker-Cell down-draft zone.
Obviously, that zone has since broken down.
Maybe one more day of consolidation.
I hope the models are not underestimating this.
Will be able to tell alot more later today with the VIS sats.
