I saw your post GI. Its consistently happened for years now. How often in '04 (the year of Fl), when models understated Jeanne's west component, and Ivan's too in the Gulf. Katrina and Rita long range models again understated the west move. Again with Ike just last year. Seems like the margin of error is even greater for important hurricanes. If you are a horse player, you would recognize this phenomenon as something called "track bias". Now at three days, they do a lot better (although the lean north and right, may still occur). |
