OT - About Links

For the future, I just made an update to the message board that will allow you to post a link like you did, only you need to add two spaces after the link. The reason the board does not recognize the link you posted as is was due to some links having spaces in them, so coding the board to try and automatically recognize a link like how you posted would have resulted in the entire line being a link, including the "in 24 hours." part. It would cause problems like this: http://radar.weather.gov/radar.php?rid=TBW&product=N0Z&overlay=11101111&loop=yes And if it happened automatically there would be no way for a person to fix it.
So here are two examples, the first with one space after the link (which still will not work due to the reason mentioned) and a second example with two spaces (which I just coded a few minutes ago):
http://radar.weather.gov/radar.php?rid=TBW&product=N0Z&overlay=11101111&loop=yes in 24 hours. http://radar.weather.gov/radar.php?rid=TBW&product=N0Z&overlay=11101111&loop=yes in 24 hours.
That lets the system know that the line contains a link and then text after it that is not part of the link.
I just wanted to let others know for the future. |
