One thing that worries me in the back of my mind is if Bill keeps going west for a while and then takes a hard turn north and stays on a straight due north track.
There is a secondary Coriolis effect that is the strongest for striaght north tracking TC's.
Also, the faster their forward speed, the stronger the seconday Coriolis effect.
The primary Corilois effect is stronger the farther north a TC is.
