Thank you Sailor for the fact sheet. I didn't know the actual name for these clams was "Quahog." In Delaware I believe we actually called them "blue clams" (for that blue stripe around the rim of course.)
It seems to me we had a law about the size of clam one could take from the back bays - but it's been so many years, decades now - I can't possibly remember. I do know that we never harvested little necks; and in fact, I never ate one till I was a young adult. (As a child at the beach I almost always caught and ate blue crabs anyway, and only rarely did clams.)
So - I now know a lot more about clams...Quahogs...thanks to you. I appreciate it very much!
