Not straight forward. It's about timing, too. The xray reaches the earth in . . . what . . . 8 minutes? The solar wind is a particle wind and travels at speeds of 250 km/second to like 600 km/second. The wind has to be earth directed and then takes TIME for it to reach the earth. I am sure it's correlated. But also sure that the biggest cat 5 storms never last more than a day or two. |
