There is an upper level low moving into the eastern Gulf of Mexico. This is producing upper level divergence to it's east, over the Atlantic, just off of the Florida coast. This afternoon there is a weak surface low off of the Florida coast, east of Jacksonville. This morning's 12Z run of the global models don't really do too much with it. The 12Z NAM, which isn't a model most people use for tropical systems, does keep the low off of the coast for the weekend. Then on Monday the low has a Fujiwhara interaction with the low that used to be Erica, and moves onshore near Jacksonville. Disclaimer: I type this more because I think it's interesting, not because I think it's going to happen. |
