| Bobbi I think you & JAC are simplifying this way too much. You say the air temp in one year VRS another but ignore all of the other elnino years. Now was 1997 a record breaking cold summer in N.C? or was that just a front that brought cold air down on that date? As far as JACs comment about the models have done poorly I scratch my head & wonder how he comes up with that. The only system the models did two shifts on was Erika where they started with a right bias followed by a shift left & then right again. As far as TC formation I think most global models have been on this year infact the first part of this season before we saw Ana the models hardly had anything developing. Are they perfect absolutely not but to say that are horrible or bad is just not true,I do think the GFDL & HWRF have intensity issues though. |
