LawKat, we had weeks on end that were 20 below + in MN & the mosquito is the darned state bird there... no lie, they sell t-shirts. The female adults make it thru winter, males die after mating - they go thru what's called diapause - little bas&$(at)#! can live thru anything !

the cold does really help keep the flea population down in the south though, my dogs are happy :)
