Not as cold tonight, 22 is expected, and 31 for Wednesday night.
Thursday is THE day everyone here is waiting on.
Sleet/Freezing rain is forecast for the day on Thursday, turning over to snow until around midnight.
Models are currently showing two divergent patterns. One model (EWMCF) takes a weak system diving southeast in Lousiana and moves it east then north, with little snow chance, coming a day earlier on Wednesday, and rain for ALL of the coastal Deep South.
Second model (GFS), however, develops a strong system, dives it southeast in extreme southeastern LA, into MS, into AL, and FL panhandle, very well developed with a front side of sleet/freezing rain to the coast, changing over to snow on Thursday, and a developed backside, with snow only.
Both taper off the precip early Friday morning (1 AM or so), and bring in the coldest temps to date, for me, it means 39 and 35 for the highs Fri and Sat, with lows of 19 and 16, respectively.
Can't wait to see how it shakes out.
