as crazy as it sounds, my sister in IA keeps her temp in the house at 64 during the day & turns it down to 52 at night, has done so for decades - me, I would be freezing, hot flashes or no... of course they do have a fireplace & a finished basement, which keeps floors much warmer than the cement slab under our carpet/tile/feet here in TX - go figure, but I could never do it?
there's been a lot of stories in the news here about pipes freezing in the north suburbs of Houston - we've had no issues what-so-ever in ours, perhaps it's how well they insulated them - I hope everyone gets thru the cold snap ok |
