The white inside the yellow in the IR loop indicates very cold cloud tops which usually means very high in altitude.
Usually that is not the best indication of how strong convection is.
IMHO, it is better to check rain rate and TRMM's precip radar to get a better idea how high cloud tops are and if a hot-tower is present.
I haven't seen any hot towers with Oli up until now.
The second image shows white blobs on the rain rate section of the scan.
Those are hot towers.
Expect to see Rapid Intensification soon.
