MESOSCALE DISCUSSION 0444 NWS STORM PREDICTION CENTER NORMAN OK 1119 AM CDT SAT MAY 01 2010 AREAS AFFECTED...NERN AR...NWRN MS...WRN/MIDDLE TN CONCERNING...TORNADO WATCH 124... VALID 011619Z - 011715Z THE SEVERE WEATHER THREAT FOR TORNADO WATCH 124 CONTINUES. QUASI STATIONARY MCS REMAINS ELONGATED IN AN E-W FASHION ACROSS MUCH OF WRN/MIDDLE TN. ALTHOUGH LLJ MAY RELAX A BIT OVER THE NEXT FEW HOURS INTO MIDDLE TN...SIGNIFICANT STRENGTHENING IS EXPECTED LATER THIS AFTERNOON WEST OF THE MS RIVER AHEAD OF SHORTWAVE TROUGH. THIS STRENGTHENING SHOULD RESULT IN CONTINUED THUNDERSTORM DEVELOPMENT ALONG WRN/SRN FRINGE OF MCS WITHIN A VERY MOIST AIRMASS...PWAT APPROACHING 2 INCHES.
