It means a more stable upper-level pattern that will allow storms to intensify as opposed to getting the tops of their T-Storms sheared off by harsh upper-level winds. A TUTT is an upper-level low, and stands for Tropical Upper Tropospheric Trough. They are capable of creating significant vertical wind shear that can rip tropical systems to shreds. |
