Shear, what will remain of it in coming weeks is all we have left for protection. Everything else seems to be in place for a massive CV season ahead. The water is hot, SAL is low and the wave train is cranking up. Eventually one of these systems will slip into the gulf and the media will get the disaster they seem hungry for. It just doesn't seem possible for the gulf to remain storm free till this mess is cleaned up. Even a Cat1 will shut down the operation possible for weeks and who knows where it will push the oil. This is a very scary season. I believe it will be a long time till we forget 2010. |
