Exactly Chris.
It is a challenge to predict or forecast the development of a TC; and that is what is the most interesting aspect of tropical weather.
I think it is like doing puzzles; insight & knowledge is gained doing progressively harder ones.
As you say, once a TC spins up, it is fairly predictable and there is not much to learn.
Sorry if my posts annoy some people; I am really trying to point out factors as they change that can influence the development or demise of a system.
Sometimes conditions change fast, and when they do, I send a post to point it out.
Hopefully, my posts are not viewed as hype. There is no intention to do so.
