I suspect that the public will be angry with the forecasters by the end of this year as some storms are hard to predict while they thrive over land as Alex seems to be doing now.

Furthermore, because the water temperatures rise as you get closer to the coastline this year, the Gulf Coast storms might be a bit more powerful at landfall.

If a major hurricane hits with only part of the population evacuated then people might justly or unjustly focus their anger on the NHC.

If these large squalls are a result of increased heat in the Caribbean and the GOM then we might have an increased number of chaotic land traversing (but powerfully landing) storms that may be hard to evacuate from because of larger squalls.

So, there may be a lot of unhappy campers by the end of 2010.
