Even though the core cell is at 15km elevation, rain-rate is poor, indicating modest latent heat transfer.
Agreed 100% on the NW-quad outflow. Need to see how the TUTT to the NE pans out.
OHC is relatively low now, but will pickup when in the middle of the GOM.
I think not just the dry to the west is impacting Alex but also more stable air to the south as well. Night time cooling of the land creates more stable air. Unfortunately, cloud cover is hindering real-time GOES soundings. Closest I can get is 25N 95W. CAPE an LI are low and there is a cap. Not very conducive for intensification.
