Alittle Jake on Alex!!!

Upper air data from southern Tex to the Central gulf coast show a E - SE 850-700mb flow from 10-15kts. As Alex continues a slow NNW motion tonight the trough will be pushing east as high pressure builds in the wake of the trough. This process will take another 8-12hrs. Until then he will slowly crawl towards the NNW through the night.
Slowly building convection as the diurnal pulse sets in through the night. He will have to deal with some mid level dry air over the western gulf which has been entrained into the circulation this evening and some continued N-NW shear around 10-12kts. Alex has an abundant supply of deep layer moisture which should help mix out the dry air by tomorrow. But, as long as it remains to the west over the very dry desert areas of Mexico, it slow development in the days ahead. Just my thoughts!!! |
