Banding

VERY windy here in the FL Big Bend this evening! My view out gulf-front windows toward horizon over the open GOM has been very dark with solid clouds and occasional thunder and lightning all day. Now that the sun has set, the winds seem to be picking up even more. With the banding that I see on the animated visable imagery, my concern is about how these bands will move any oil that this system encounters. The storm is pushing away from us right now, but once it gets further offshore and west of us, I cannot help but wonder if the banding will throw any oil encountered back at us. Any thoughts on this concern? |
