| It is not really a valid "prediction" in my opinion if they get to change it this time of year. I don't hold too much with the predictions anyway. Chances are it will be an active season but we humans just don't have the skill to predict that well yet. It is really all a guessing game. I bet the "old timers" were actually better at predicting when there wasn't so much reliance on models. The NHC does a GREAT job when the storms are a few days out but overall things just change too much with weather to make predictions of number of storms, expected paths of storms, etc. too far out. My Mom always said the storms had a "mind of their own". We know a lot about weather but not everything. After all, the earth is "alive" and living things aren't always predictable. So much we just don't know. |
