Katrina vs Rita, Ike

Bridge City, Sabine Pass, High Island, Gilchrist, Crystal Beach, and Galveston.... Where is all of the pity for these communities??  When Rita hit back in 2005, NO ONE cared!! The damage  was caused by a hurricane, not the aftermath of a hurricane!! Which in reality was caused by the utter ignorance of state and local governments that were NOT prepared.  It was known fact the levee' s were not capable of surviving ... This subject had been under discussion for some time, and still NOTHING was done!!. Then when disaster hit, thousands died ... Not because of high winds and rain, but because officals had not done their jobs!! So, when Rita hit, basically no one cared. And then when Ike hit, where was the sympathy that was bestowed on New Orleans? Absolutly no where to be found... Because they were still talking about New Orleans!!!  My heart goes out to anyone affected by tragedy, but I feel for ALL who suffer, not just a chosen few!!
