DESteve, I'm not JAC but I could help you.
The "y" axis or "Z" axis as it's represented here is the height of the atmosphere, while the "x" axis or "r" as it's denoted here is the radius. It's graphing Temperature Anomaly within the system. It gives a good indication of how the core of the system is developing. For instance if the " countor ovals" have a very wide signature on the graph, then we're looking at a big broad ciruclation (ie like Alex) if the ovals are smaller, then we have a tighter core. The higher the temperature anomaly within the core, as we know, the stronger the system by feedback processes, etc. This is sloppy still but looks better then the one JAC posted yesterday.
Maybe JAC has one somewhere from an old storm to show you how it models a big large cane's core.
I'm not sure how this product is derived, I just know how to read it. Hope that helps. |
