Convection may look like crap, but wind fields look pretty good.

If there was some real convection going on, this would be a TD.
It looks like convection is running into some 200mb vorticity overhead due to the TUTT that is now over Florida.
It provides resistance to rising air parcels, essentially pushing them down; thus high-topped cumulus nimbus cells can't form.
Good thing no anti-cyclone overhead. If so, it would be a whole different ball-game.
850mb vorticity is impressive.
