Yes, Gianmarc, we have seen Earl slamming into a wall recently.
That started the annular discussion earlier today. The thing to notice is that In the latest vis sat loop, which I cannot seem to find right now, you clearly see mid-level cloud movement that is due west of the COC expanding towards the Turks / Caicos Islands. This push is happening because Earl is hunting for some weakness around the high.
South of Cuba is a small, tight mid-level low that is creating a due west wind channel. I suspect that this a window of opportunity for Earl to gain some westerly movement.
The key to all of this is the timing and strength of the inbound trough. We shall see....
