waxes poetic in person on how impt it is to give the Gulf fast, early warning as storms often spin up FAST just off shore and there is no way to give 72 hours warning
but this seems a bit lapsidasical up in the ny/nj area
i mean this has potential for big time Katrina disaster if it affects NJ/NY
not hyping this
the coast line of NW is slanted the same angle the storm will most likely turn it takes the SMALLEST deviation of degree for this storm to SCRAPE UP EVERY BEACH TOWN in NJ on it's way to the NY metro area (extrapolated) vs tip of long island
would not take a lot
example
if they are off by a small degree with a west bound cat 4 going into miami it hits fll or coral gables
if they are off by a small degree and he comes in just a drop more to the west he affects a lot of people
similar to a storm in the gulf off of florida... difference between hitting naples and tampa is not that big a difference but it is to the town that gets him and all the towns along the way
you have a very strong storm at a high lat moving fast once the front catches it
right now its nw at 17...
come on front.... |
