Cypress, we rode out the storm at home here in NW Harris county, along FM 529 between Fry Rd and Barker Cypress.  We had trees down in our neighborhood, one fell right between our house and the neighboring house, taking down the fence.  Lost all but the very back fence, that stretch was fairly new.  Roof was damaged, but no water damage or flooding out here. My mom's house lost shingles and roof paper was compromised, the plywood sheathing on the roof separated and water poured in.  Luckily she was not staying at her home that night.

We lost power about 11:30 that Friday night, and were without power until about 6 pm on Sunday. We were very lucky, it could have been much worse.

I was only 6 years old when Carla came ashore, and I lived in South Houston at that time, so now I have survived two big 'canes.
