Interesting fact

Got this from a local messageboard

Five of the top seven CPK snowstorms (in the past 141 years) have occurred in the past 14 years; and four of those were in the last seven years.

Additionally, this streak of huge coastal storms since last winter is a little freaky. I mean, these are unprecendented.

Are we in the golden age of  snowstorms? Are these the good old days? Are the younger members getting spoiled?

Could you imagine if we had this hobby in the 1970 and 1980s?

I just checked, there were no CPK snowstorms over 10 inches in the 8 winters from 1970 to 1977. There were two decent winters, then there was only one snowstorm over 10 inches in the 13 winters from 1980 to 1992.

Stated another way, there were only four 10-inch snowstorms at CPK from 1970 to 1992 (there were 10 in the last decade). As you might expect, there were very few above average snowfall winters during that period.
