agreed Chris - we live in a world of "instant news" now, most people would not have even heard of 4,000 blackbirds dying in Arkansas even 10 years ago - instant news, instant assumptions & correlations

though it looks to me like the map they show toward the top of the page showing the dip north pole shifting basically to the NE differs from the Google map further down the page, showing a SE then NW shift ??? I really don't understand that at all - unless the "observed" & "magnetic" definitions differ greatly??? I don't know enough about the science behind it to know what's what
in both cases though, it appears the dip north pole is relocating on a faster basis than previously
also interesting, the north dip is relocating faster than the south
