Re: More deadly flooding in Australia

I've been watching the flooding thismorning from a media perspective and it seems that they are still very concerned with flooding for the city. What worries me is how things are always underestimated when high impact events occur, for instance the flooding that occured in Tamaboo (Sp) could never be accurately predicted. Hydrology is one complicated aspect of the atmospheric sciences... trying to model *that* aspect is ridiculous. I hope that the flooding isn't worse then their 1974 experience, but considering how much the area has grown in the past 40 years, it does still seem a bit unsettling to think a major city with a massive river through it is going to become indudated with water. Let's hope things work out for them! I'm concerned for them that's for sure.
