Yes I did! And then to see it become reality is just heartbreaking. The local leader of Queensland was just speaking in a video I saw (I'm sorry, I'm not familiar with their exact "postition titles" there, and she was fighting tears really badly. I feel horrible for them because there isn't MUCH they can do about it at all. If they kept the dam at max capacity they could have lost it and done more damage to Brisbane then what their seeing now. I just hope this doesn't happen again considering this years Nina episode in conjunction with other teleconnections are making it a year to remember from a anomalous weather perspective.
Heartbreaking. I just wish some people would stop being sooooo stupid. If you know your in a bad location, don't leave your children home unattended! A poor 13 year old boy was washed away as he made resucuers save his little brother first. Then I saw another video of a family who's nothing to think about creek in their backyard turned into a raging river that swept through house clean including their two parents.
I *hate* when people take risks with Mother Nature. Take risks with other things in life, but NOT EARTH. I don't understand what people think sometimes. It's not like this wasn't expected. ALL of BRISBANE were warned about this and some people just act like it won't happen to them, so sad. |
