CypressTX don't know if you saw my post "It has been killer hot here..." Going outside is very rough; working outside is imho very dangerous. You can feel the humidity sitting in your lungs. It makes breathing difficult.
If I remember chucky7777 is not to far from my area I was surprised that their area chooses not to have a heat advisory but the NWS has their reasons. As for cooking food on the sidewalks my mom told me stories of how the people in Tucson would cook an egg on the sidewalk just to show how hot it was.
THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR SOUTHEAST ALABAMA... SOUTHWEST AND SOUTH CENTRAL GEORGIA...AND THE FLORIDA BIG BEND AND PANHANDLE...AND ADJACENT COASTAL WATERS.
.DAY ONE...TODAY AND TONIGHT... HEAT INDICES REACHING ADVISORY LEVELS ARE NOT EXPECTED TO BE AS WIDESPREAD TODAY AS WAS SEEN DURING PREVIOUS DAYS. THEREFORE A HEAT ADVISORY WILL NOT BE ISSUED. BEST CHANCES TO SEE A FEW SPOTS REACH 110 DEGREES WILL BE CLOSE TO THE COAST WHERE DEWPOINTS WILL HOVER IN THE UPPER 70S TO NEAR 80 THROUGH MUCH OF THE DAY. FURTHER INLAND MAX HEAT INDEX READINGS WELL GENERALLY FALL BETWEEN 105 AND 108 DEGREES. ALTHOUGH AN ADVISORY WILL NOT BE ISSUED...THESE CONDITIONS CAN STILL BE UNCOMFORTABLE AND POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS. THOSE WITH PLANS FOR PROLONGED OR STRENUOUS OUTDOOR ACTIVITIES SHOULD CONTINUE TO PLAN FOR THESE CONDITIONS. SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS ARE EXPECTED TO BE SCATTERED ACROSS THE REGION THIS AFTERNOON AND EVENING. OVERALL COVERAGE SHOULD BE LESS THAN CLIMATOLOGICAL VALUES FOR EARLY AUGUST. HOWEVER...FOR THOSE STORMS THAT DO DEVELOP...ATMOSPHERIC CONDITIONS WILL FAVOR AN ENHANCED THREAT FOR LOCALIZED DAMAGING WINDS.
