The NHC Track's graphic archives are interesting here. This is the first one OFF Cuba. One, maybe two, more and it will be off of Hispanola. Personally, I believe GOM is out of the question and inland Florida is very doubtful. There is a real trend in the forecasts and it is the opposite of what we normally see at these longitudes. Unless it slows and a High builds strong and quick, this one is bigger and, hate to say it because of Carolina pride, less of an impact that has been thought. Heck, it's probably already fated to be stronger than we have been anticipating. The effect of Hispanola on the S or SW side is not a given...Note that a LOT of the energy of this system is, and has been, NE of wherever the center has been. Whether the center reforms away from the land or wraps around to self-destruct will be interesting. We'll know by this time tomorrow, I guess.
