Deductible and co-pays for wind damage....NOT good for the economy...

Another sad note is that many don't realize that their deductible for wind damage has gone through the roof since the last tropical system hit. I looked at ours just last week. We have a good policy and a middle income home. Our wind damage deductible is now $8000+; during the last major storm through here - Isabelle - it was $500.. Deductibles like that really will cause major problems for most families.
And, as I said, few people read all those 'extra pages' when they come via mail/email in their annual renewal so they probably do not realize that this has occurred.
No, a storm like this on your doorstep does NOT help the economy. And, as we know - lives are priceless. |
