GFDL is shifting east and east with each run. It's gone from the panhandle to Tampa to Naples to Miami and prolly next Georgia. They've been way off so far, as have all the models. This storm has moved much further north than anyone thought.
To be 100% honest, I'm starting to lean towards Irene missing the US altogether. A trend is beginning to take shape where models are starting to curve this out to sea...maybe slightly brushing Hatteras. It's really having a problem staying on a westerly track. It's going almost due NW right now. |
