Nightly Attraction To Land?

It seems to me that every night there is an evening burst of convection and cloud formation near the land around the tropics on the satellite loops.
Might the models see higher pressure around tropical land during the day, only to see lower pressures return around tropical land each night?
And if so, could the GFDL model somehow be taking this into account? |
