B-Low,

I think if she maintains the NW to NNW heading into SC/NC, she will likely still be a major at landfall, but she won't be able to maintain high Cat 4/5 strength that far north.  The waters just aren't warm and deep enough to keep her trucking.  If this was about 2 weeks from now, I'd say yes.  But now, I think she will weaken as she gains latitude.

Still nothing to sneeze at.  125 mph is still going to do a lot of damage to a lot of places.
