Id worry more on Norfolk than Raleigh...   and I think the intensity forecast is a little strange with this storm... doesn't jive with climo and I'd bet on climo anytime.

As for Raleigh... I trust www.wral.com more than I trust any forecasters in Miami right now and they feel it is more an Outer Banks storms. They have their own models which are amazing.

OBX...

As for Raleigh or any city inland taking a hurricane...those pine trees come down on a day without wind, there are tons of them... there would be work for months and months cutting down and hauling away debris. Houses are made beyond crummy... false brick facades and poor construction compared to what we have in Miami. Blows me away how poor the construction is... bad insulation, one strong oak or pine falls and half the house is gone ...

Very doubtful Raleigh will get a 3... or a 2 or a 1... maybe a few strong storms.

Time will tell.

Rather be in Miami in a Cat 2 than Raleigh in a  strong Tropical Storm
