With the grounds so saturated here, and the heavy rains that are forecasted to come with this system, 40-50 mph winds would bring down alot of trees and power poles. My location we have had almost a foot of rain this month. When Gloria hit if I remember correctly we had no rain or at most 0.20" at most for the first 26 days of the month(east end had more because of Henri). So if this is going to be same strenght as Gloria was the damage will be much worse because of the saturated grounds. Look what happened back in March of 2010 with saturated grounds, hundreds+ trees down,400 Telephones poles downed, quarter of a million people lost power, and that was from 60-65 mph winds.Saturated grounds will only add to the danger!! |
