Well said indeed. I thought of this today. If some of the GFS model out put verifies for QPF it was calling for about 7 inches of rain in albany Sunday. That's insane to me.
I'm conerned for basement flooding, not so much flash locally where I am. There are woods next and around my townhouse that have become swamplike.Tree's fall in thunderstorms. I'm kinda concerned about that for this neighborhood as the water table is high and after every major wind event during the winter a tree falls around us.
I was speaking with a classmate last night and her big point about impacts from Irene in the NE is that we're not built for that kinda weather, not rain or wind. The vegetation is not adpated to this type of thing and either are the humans and their cities and towns. :(
My biggest concern is not having power for days (if not longer) up here if this verifies. |
