First Rain Ban

We had a small rain band come through about 1:45. Looked cloudy out, a little sprinkling of rain, then bam--that hard blowing hurricane rain for about 3 minutes. Then it stopped as quickly as it started. We are getting a little breezy here, but nothing bad yet. We're located in Emerald Isle, NC...the Crystal Coast--lucky us, eh???
We always watch closely, and have decided to stay. Been in a lot of storms, and think this one will be mostly rain here, some wind of course, but the beach erosion and storm surge is going to be horrible.
Hope it continues to move, and pick up speed, not strength, and zips through here, as quickly as possible.
Thank you all for helping everyone through this. It can be pretty scary sometimes, even for those with a little experience/knowledge of storms. Your explanations and info are always so very helpful. |
