-- "Crews from CenterPoint Energy are on their way to the east coast to help utility companies after Hurricane Irene lands this weekend.
A convoy left from Pasadena after 7am. CenterPoint says its crew of 80 workers is expected to arrive in Washington D.C. Sunday afternoon.
They will work 12 to 16 hour shifts to clear tree limbs and debris, replace downed power poles, and restore power to residents along the east coast."

After Ike, we were at a friend's house, closer to Galveston, where power couldn't be restored until a power pole was removed and a new one replaced in the backyard across the street.  We went to a Subway sandwich shop that had power, and bought enough footlong subs to give to the workers.  They wouldn't stop to eat until they had that pole up and power back on.  These guys are awesome when they pull into town to help.  This neighborhood had been without power for about a week.
